Hey, you!
Yeah, you, out there! If you're reading this, that's most likely because you've just joined the site and are about to start out the application process! Well, before you do so, there are a few things we'd like you to keep in mind! First things first, though, and let's clear up a few things.
1.) What is an audition?
It's basically the same as trying out for a character in a play - only, uh, in written form. This is basically an IC post written by YOU, AND ONLY YOU that us staff members will check to see how well you know your character.
2.) Original characters need audition posts, too?
Not necessarily. Auditions are mostly required for canon characters, just to make sure they're not driven way too OOC. If you're making an OC, and want to do an audition, that's fine. We'll take a look at it.Audition Instructions
In order to be able to post, we need to look at your audition first. If two of our staff members accept it, then you're good to go. If two staff members reject it - well, we're pretty sorry. But you're welcome to try again some time! Once your audition is accepted, head to the application board, fill out a bio and wait for one staff member to accept it. If they do, then you're more than welcome to start posting!
The minimum word count is 250 words. The whole process isn't based on the word count, of course (we do know that quality can beat quantity). What we want to see, is how you get the character across. The post has to be written by YOU AND ONLY YOU. We're going to make sure that you didn't steal it, or anything. We'll be watching.
After your audition is accepted, you have one week to complete your bio. If you let that week past, the character will be up for grabs again.
4.) Can I recreate a scene from the game/movie?
It's not recommendable. Yes, they are beautiful/amazing/sad/etc., but we want you to use your imagination~
5.) Can other characters appear in my audition?
Yes, but - as Dumbledore said to Harry as he gave him the invisibility cloak - use them wisely. Don't let them become the protagonists. Also, don't just let your character beat the heck out of them, or we'll just assume that you're godmoding, which is not allowed.
Having said this, good luck! If you have any questions, PM a staff member.
