ASHER CALLUM

Name: Asher Callum
Age: Fifteen
Affiliation: Nobody
Gender: Male
Canon or OC: OC

Weapon: Asher’s primary weapons are twin sickles known as Kusarigama. They have chains hanging from the end of the handles, and a weight hanging from said chain.
Specialties and Fighting~: Even as a human, Asher held a special ability, to an extent. Once he became a nobody, the ability increased significantly in strength, and opened to a second one entirely. The boy was born with something called Ability Negation. If he holds physical contact with a person, and so desires, he is able to nullify most spells or abilities that enchant the person, even going as far to disable their own powers. Once he became a nobody, it spread into Ability Sensing, which then allowed him to sense if a person was either influenced by such a thing, or if they held one of their own. Note that both abilities require physical contact. He has also dabbled in magic enough to learn Cure to some extent. Minding, all of these things can be quite exhausting!
He’s fast on his feet, and of average strength. The nobody seems to be extremely intelligent for his age, and catches onto most things quickly. Without emotions in his way, he doesn’t feel guilt in taking unfair shots in a fight, and doesn’t feel much pity for those that cross him.
Of course, he doesn’t like to take things seriously most of the time, and that includes dangerous situations! In those that seem like he would be concerned, he’s seen toying around, even allowing himself to turn the tables in the favor of his enemies. He tends to just laugh about it, unless there’s something important on the line. He does find it frustrating that none of his strengths seem to hold much of an offensive standpoint in comparison to his older sibling, which, despite becoming a nobody, still irks him. And, unfortunately for him, he has very little on the defensive side, when in combat, unless he can subdue the target before they hit him.
Personality: Asher is friendly, as far as Nobodies go. In fact, it’s very difficult to even realize that he is one! In public, he’s overly talkative, and playful; sometimes he even goes as far as to find out-of-the-ordinary ways to make people happy. Sure, it takes effort, and he doesn’t always understand what he’s making a person feel, but he can try! He can seem a little too nosy sometimes, and conveniently appears where those he becomes close with seem to, but it’s all in good fun. And, certainly not stalking. No. Following a person from place to place isn’t stalking! …Right? Well, it’s not like he does it to everyone. Just fun people.
On the inside, Asher is fairly confused. He understands that he is a nobody, but doesn’t fully know how to accept such a thing. Especially when it seems like he can feel so well sometimes! But, when he hits a note that makes it overly obvious that he cannot, he tends to pull away from people, to be quiet and think. Coming across him during one of these moments would not be an ideal decision, unless wanting to fight with him, or be insulted with a bittersweet tongue.
History:
Asher was born to a relatively small family. He had two loving parents, and a brother that was two years older than him. Sure, he was loved, but he still found himself fighting in the shadow of his older brother, and constantly struggled to impress his family. To be blunt, his brother was everything that Asher was not – and, Asher wasn’t really much. The only thing that the younger boy could surpass his brother in was intelligence, and he made sure to flaunt it when the opportunity would rise. Not necessarily in a mean way, of course. Asher never liked to upset people, even his own brother, but when the rarity would come up, he would have to show that he was better at something.
To prevent himself from falling behind in the one subject he excelled, he kept himself much closer to books than friends. Throughout his life, he only kept one close friend; a girl a year younger than he was, Maya, was the only person that he found himself able to fully trust. Only during the days that he would see her would he fully be able to act like himself. Around his family, he tried to be composed and proper, but with her, he could actually be a child. They would play games and laugh with one another for hours. Being so close with the girl eventually formed infatuation, though he worried it was unrequited, and never attempted to alter their friendship.
Especially with his brother trying to seek the girl’s attention. Perhaps, it was because she had no interest in the older sibling, he tried to steal her away from Asher. Sure, they were only friends, but she was also Asher’s only friend, and didn’t seem overly fond of his sibling. Until this had happened, Asher had been clueless to the ability that hid itself within him. One day, his brother was trying to show off, and Asher’s response was to punch him in the face. This day completely altered the siblings relationship, in the worst possible way. As it would turn out, his sibling did not share both parents, and had an illusion in place to hide what would make him seem very different to others. Asher’s frustrations had destroyed the illusion, revealing his older brother for his actual self, and causing friends to make fun of the other.
Their already strained relationship worsened, and his brother seemed to distance himself from the family more and more with progressing time. His brother would even go as far as to take time out of his day to try to worsen Asher’s. Events included tripping him, putting bugs in his bed, and even going as far as to burn his school books. After that point, neither could be in the same room without some form of argument, or physical abuse. In most situations, Asher did not start these. It had never been his intent to damage their family as much as he had.
To keep away from his sibling, he spent more time with Maya. Often, they would head to the outskirts of their town, and play in a forested area. As Asher grew more and more fond of the girl, he debated more of her reaction if she were to find out his interests in her. Unfortunately, he never actually got to find out. One of their days spent lounging in the forest, black creatures began to appear. Maya noticed one almost instantly, and suggested returning home, but Asher persuaded her into staying, telling her that it was unlikely that they would need to worry about it. One Heartless turned to two, and then two into five, proceeding to jump the girl. Panicked, the boy fought them off, and tried to hurry her to a hospital. Instead, the creatures pursued him, and attacked, causing him to fall. Maya’s wounds had been bleeding quite badly, and all the teen was able to do was try to protect her body as she slipped away.
Never having seen a death, let alone of someone so important, he was frozen. The little monsters had already destroyed him quite efficiently, but he couldn’t even find the proper reaction to move to their attacks. Instead, he focused on the girl’s lifeless body, until his own pain was overwhelming, and the world blackened around him. He later woke in Twilight Town, unable to locate Maya or the attackers. In fact, he wasn’t even certain on the location of his world, as this definitely was not it.
From there, he found himself wandering, in attempts to understand the situation. He learned Cure, and came to realize his own abilities, which were unshared by others that he socialized with. Hearing of Nobodies in passing, the teen has placed this into consideration behind his awakening, but lacks the knowledge on the subject to be positive.
