Wake up; wake up before the darkness reaches you.
Michael's eyes shot open as he the strange but oddly familiar voice spoke in his mind. The teen stood up slowly and gave his surroundings a quick scan, though there wasn't really much for him to look at. He was surrounded by nothing but the emptiness of the darkness he had called home for most of his life. He looked down to find that he was standing on glass platform which was imprinted with a huge picture of himself holding onto some kind of key sword. Behind the picture of himself was a smaller picture of Sarah with her famous smile, and it caused Michael to tear up a little bit. How he was going to miss that smile on her face when she was gone.
You can still save her.
Michael looked around to see just where that voice was coming from, but he really couldn't find the source of the voice. So instead he did the second thing that came to his mind, he responded to the voice. "And just how do I do that; by standing here in the middle of nowhere looking like some kind of lost puppy?" after Michael responded to the question the glass underneath him began to shake as if it was going to break. However the glass didn't break instead from underneath glass came three small tables. The tables surrounded Michael, one to his left, one to his right, and one just in front of him. The table on the left held a shield, the table on the right held a sword, and the table in front of him held a staff.
You can save her by unlocking the power within you. Now pick the thing you value the most. The sword that grants you the strength and power to defend those you love. The shield to keep the ones you love out of harm’s way or the staff to invoke those around you to act.
Michael looked around at the tables and the items on them and wondered if taking them was a bad idea. He was about to tell the voice he wasn't going to play this game and that he wanted to go back to Sarah. So he could save her from those things that had begun to attack his world, but something deep inside of him told him otherwise. Instead Michael advanced towards the table holding the sword and picked it up. Somehow the sword felt right in his hands like he was meant to hold one of them. "I pick the sword; I want the power to defend the ones I care for."
And so it shall be; now however you must pick the object you don't want.
The object he didn't want? Michael turned around the sword held tightly in his hand and looked at the two remaining objects and wonder which want he didn't want. The shield could help him keep Sarah away from the danger, while the staff could help him invoke her power to fight. Though he didn't think holding a staff and sword would look very heroic so Michael went and picked up the shield. He looked over towards the staff to see it slowly fading away. Turning into little tiny specks of light until it was all gone; soon the tables did the same thing until they too were gone.
Michael looked down at the two things in his hands and soon watches as they two vanished only to be replaced by the key sword that was shown in the picture below him. Michael looked up at the pitch black sky and spoke, "What the hell is this?"
That is the keyblade. Perhaps the most powerful weapon ever made, with it you defeat the Heartless that attack your world and all worlds. It can unlock any lock, even the lock to one's heart. I leave you with one last gift, something else that lives deep inside you. A gift I think you shall find…most useful in your journey.
“What do you mean one last gift, and I still don’t get this keyblade thing!” Michael shouted out, sadly though the voice didn’t answer this time instead something else replied to Michael’s yelling. Rising up from the platform below came a shadowy black figure cloaked in a black jacket with hood. The only thing one could see when it came to their face was a pair of bright red eyes that glowed with anger. Michael took a step back and the thing in front of him took a careful step towards Michael, underneath his breath Michael let out a few bad curse words and then took off towards the other side of the glass platform. However he stopped himself short due to the fact if he moved any further he’d fall down into God knows where. So instead he turned around with his keyblade in his hand and looked towards the Heartless that was slowly approaching him. Michael’s light blue eyes darted towards the keyblade and he figured now was the best time to test this thing out. The teen ran forward and clumsily went to strike with his keyblade doing a forward slash. The red eyes Heartless simply pushed Michael and his keyblade aside, causing Michael to fall to the ground and his keyblade to go flying out of his hands and to the ground a few feet in front of him.
The humanoid Heartless loamed over Michael and the young boy could swear that the damn thing was smiling an evil smile. Though Michael would never be able to tell, and as the monster rose his foot to smash into Michael’s back he found himself shouting a single word that would change the flow of battle. “STOP!” and just like that time began to time around the young teen. The heartless froze in place foot just about to stomp on Michael’s back, Michael quickly rolled away from the foot and stood up. He headed towards his keyblade and picked the weapon up before looking at the frozen heartless. “Hehe, so that is what it awakened in me…the ability to control time.” though before Michael fully enjoy what he had just done the Heartless sprung back into motion and quickly noticed that Michael was no longer underneath him.
(Because I don’t feel like explaining a whole battle we shall time skip)
Michael took a deep breath and realized just how out of breath and tired he had been the Heartless had put up such a good fight. Though somehow he had managed to beat it and now looking at its slowly dissolving body Michael couldn’t help but feel like he was ready to take on the things that threatened Sarah. With that Michael began to feel himself fading away from this awakening place and going slowly back to his world…ready to face whatever was ahead of him.
