Cold. Hard. Painful.
Where am I?
Where? She knew it was cold, hard, yet smooth and soothing. Her cheek was pressed into that surface that seemed so comforting, letting it cool her skin; and in noticing how cold it felt, she noticed for the first time, that she could feel it. It existed. She wasn't just floating in oblivion, as she knew she had been before. It was... so hard to try and adjust to it. Especially after such a long time...
... had it really been a long time? She didn't know. Back in there, wherever she... had been, nothing had form, nothing was definite, not even time. It could have been only a few minutes. It could have been a thousand years. It could have been... merely a heartbeat, and she wouldn't have noticed. It was strange, but she didn't really want to think about that, much. Her mind begged to go back into numbness, into rest, into sleep. There was something about this new, familiar environment that she didn't like. Something that felt so awfully wrong that she wanted to get up and run, despite all her senses begged to go back into unconsciousness. Her strenghts failed her, though, she couldn't move from... there.
Where am I?
What was this place that held so much? It had been important, and she knew it. She knew that it had been of importance to her, but couldn't quite figure out why. And, whichever the reason was, had it been good, or bad? Her mind was slowly, reluctantly, finding it's way back into the real world, and breaking from the fog that it seemed to be sunk in. Small flashes, bits of images, slowly played across her memories, in a brief moment. Memories... memories of silence, confusion. Then laughter, smiles, something sweet that brought a nostalgic feel. Shades of red, yellow and orange filling the sky, with just a slight shade of pink to it. Sunrise. Or maybe sunset. Yeah, that was it. Eternal sunset. Days that would never end. Nights that would never come.
And then confusion, pain, loss, something she couldn't quite explain. Questions left unanswered. Answers that refused to come. Then... nothing. There wasn't much left to remember, anymore. Something was wrong. There was something missing there... so much that she couldn't recall anymore. Grumbling lightly, she rolled over in a restless fashion, and in doing so, her head spun dangerously. At least she hadn't been standing... she would've tipped over in one second.
Large blue eyes opened, and found themselves being blinded by the light. White. So much white... it was almost dazing, almost painful. Her eyes actually hurt. She had to close them again, for several seconds, before actually daring to open them again and stare into a ceiling. A sharp breath was drawn in. How long had she been holding her breath? How hadn't she noticed? That didn't matter, the feel of that pure air filling into her sore lungs was unbelievable. Like a large gulp of water after wandering the desert. Like breaking through the ocean's surface after nearly drowning. It was the feel of air filling her lungs what made her finally realize that she was alive.
Xion.
She got to her feet slowly, and took everything in with tired blue eyes, trying to remember what was this place, and why it was so important.
Where am I?

Now, this was weird.
He had no sense of what the time was, nor how long he had been wandering the expansive chambers of this.. whatever this was. From what he gathered (which admittedely, wasn't much), it looked to be a castle of some sort. It had to be, because castles typically had huge rooms, right? Whatever the case, whether he was indeed inside a castle, the question was: how did he get in? Or more accurately, how could he do just the opposite, and get out?
The Melodiious Nocturne had woken up some time before, and found himself laying near the rear (or was it the front?) wall of a huge room. And by 'woken up', what he did in actuality was a bit further from the truth. For, you see, someone woke up him. Someone had screamed. Loudly. The shrill scream was so close, in fact, it sounded as though the idiot had screamed right into his ear. Truth was, the scream came from Demyx. The young man had just somehow found his way into the castle, picked a room, lied down, went to, er, sleep(?), only to be awoken shortly later, screaming as though he just had a horrific nightmare.
Which held some truth to it.
Disorientated for the time being, Demyx stayed exactly where he was, and spent some moments trying to sort out in his mind just what he heck was going on. The last thing that he remembered, was being involved in a scuffle with that spikey-headed teenager; he had.. lost, (which sounded about right), but afterwards...? What then? What happened? There was blinding light, but not so much that he couldn't see his sitar fall apart in his own hands, see that there was both dark and light surrounding him...
Unfortunately for him, at that moment a great wave of pain swept over him- everything that he had endured upon his death- and the blonde Nobody screamed, his body contorting. It struck multiple times, and when it seemed that it was over, the Nocturne huddled against the wall, his legs bent, his forearms resting on his knees. He glanced round the room, but there was nothing to see, to use. He loowered his head, resting his forehead against his forearms, and shut his eyes tight, his brow furrowed. He needed to figure things out; why he was back, what it meant...
But then again, he was never good at figuring things out by himself, right?
Demyx needed to find someone, someone he could trust to do most of the thinking for him (especially if there was some kind of danger element to it), and he had to do it fast. He had no idea of where to begin, though. Looking upwards, he wiped perspiration off his forehead with a gloved hand.
Taking one more quick survey of the room, Demyx steadied himself and stood up; he moved too quickly, however, and almost fell backwards. Once he'd corrected his balance, made sure that gravity was working with him, he picked a direction, one he hoped would take him out of here.
His choice would be a poor one. And the next one after that, and after that, and after that. Soon enough, though, the Nocturne came across something unusual. Well, unusual, considering how empty the other rooms had been up until now.
There was a black-robed figure in the room, with him.
He froze, unsure of whether to make a quick escape (to where?), or to approach the figure. With luck, it'd be someone familiar, someone whom Demyx held no grievances for. And with better luck, they wouldn't attack him on sight. The last thing he needed now was an opponent, and one that was eager for combat.
His body still ached, and he was in no shape to play tunes on his beloved Arpeggio, no matter how pleasing the concept was. Demyx ran a hand through his hair, a serious look on his face as he stared down at the floor. What to do..? Biting his lip, he made his decision, and with great care he approached the cloaked figure, reaching out with one not-so-steady hand in a friendly gesture, one that implied he meant no harm to ...whoever this person was.
"....H-hey. Hey, there. Do you live here...? Who are you? I can't... I can't find my way out, hahaha-Ooww.. " He began to feel stupid as soon as he'd opened his mouth, but his attempt at a pitiful laugh only made things worse. Pain stabbed right through his middle, and he doubled over.

White. Everything was... so white. So blank. Empty. Lifeless. Xion wasn't quite too sure she liked it. No, she sure didn't. It was way too... devoid of life. She felt trapped in a bleak nightmare. Why was it so white? It was... creepy. Rather creepy. She still allowed her senses to take everything in, and re-discover the place that felt oh so familiar.
Indeed, it felt extremely familiar, and Xion couldn't decide if that was a good or a bad thing. But, it was important. She needed to figure it out, now. This place might pose a threat, and she wasn't moving out! Why couldn't she simply run away, run toward the first door she could find, and bolt out of the place into safety? It seemed like the most logical thing to do...
... unless what was out there was not safe, either. Damn. She hadn't considered that at all. Brilliant.
Though, she couldn't quite process that at all. No. She was too... brain-dead for that. At this moment, her mind was still more-or-less caught in a strange, numb state that didn't let her think clearly. No. All She could really focus on was trying to find someone in this sickly white place. There had to be someone there, someone who could tell her what was this place, she... she had to find... find...
...them.
Two faces fell into her mind harshly, dropping on top of the pile of jumbled thoughts and feelings that currently flooded her brain. Those faces... she knew them. Yeah, she did. She had to. One of the two possessed spiky red hair that pointed in every possible direction, green eyes and strange marks right below them, the other one had rather messy, though also spiked blonde hair and bright blue eyes. There was something at the tip of her tongue, something that seemed to bring back so much... something that she needed to say aloud, but that refused to escape her lips. She knew the faces, but couldn't recall any name, or relation...
Why couldn't she remember anything?
At that moment, her mind was trying to work it's way out of the numbness, trying to recall something, anything, whatever. She just HAD to! She felt so desperate that she could almost swear she felt tears pricking at her eyes. She refused to let them spill, and forced herself to choke them back, pulling her hood up to hide her face. This wasn't the right moment for a breakdown. She had to pull herself together, and find a way out! Because there had to be one.
All of a sudden the door swung open and someone stepped in - the stranger wore a black robe like the one she wore as well, and seemed almost as confused as she was. Xion stared at him blankly as he spoke, not really knowing what to say to him. Did she live there? She didn't know. How was she supposed to know if she wasn't even entirely sure of who she was? It... it was rather confusing, to say the least. She gasped lightly as he suddenly doubled over in pain, and almost stepped back. Almost, that is. It felt like a struggle, but she slowly mumbled out a single question.
"... Are you hurt?"

...Are you hurt?
Those words were quite possibly the understatement of the... now, just how long had he been... ? What he was trying to think of, was the last time when he was in such a situation. He found that he couldn't remember much more than when he had tried earlier. There was pain, lots of it; that was all fresh, as though he had just high-tailed from the battle moments before. No matter. The stranger's words were amusing, given how he felt, and he couldn't help but laugh, which he regretted; more spasms were brought on, and Demyx had falled silent, turning away from the robed girl.
When his thoughts cleared and the pain subsided, he turned his head to face the stranger, a look of total puzzlement on his face. He looked just as confused as she was, as though she were the one to ask such a ridiculous question. Of course she wouldn't live here; who in their right mind would? The place, or what he saw of it so far, gave him the shivers. It was very hard to tell one room from another, and for all he gathered, he might as well been re-entering the same room over and over.
Now that he felt able enough to speak again, the young Nocturne nodded in response to the girl's curious question.
"Got that right, man- I-I mean gir- I mean..."
Demyx groaned, and could've kicked himself right then and there- but he had had enough of injuries, superficial or not. Straightening up, he tried putting on his best act, of being a friendly, I-mean-you-no-harm casual guy. Who happened to be traversing a mysterious castle's chambers and halls, in the middle of nowhere.
"...You dont know this place, either, I guess." He paused for a moment, and lowered himself to the ground- well, fell over, actually; Demyx tried to get comfortable as best as he could on the stone floor. Standing around seemed to be more draining than usual, and he had to give his legs a rest; what he wouldn't do for a comfy couch...
Demyx looked to the stranger's blank face and dipped his head, his eyebrows raised. He was expecting her to say something else, something that'd get rid of the silence surrounding them both. He was getting unnerved by the dead silence of the castle, and hearing someone speak was comforting, at the very least. He could do with some of that.

If it hadn't been because he looked as confused as she was, Xion would have assumed he lived here. But, that was unlikely. Besides, she doubted anyone would want to live in that place... the general atmosphere, it... it just brought an uneasy feeling to her, that she could almost describe as fear. She didn't want to be there. If anything, she wanted to go... go anywhere; it didn't matter. For as long as she could escape the white bleakness that place held. It was cold, and bright, and blinding.
The only problem was, where could she go? She had no idea, it seemed. And, just trying to think of it gave her a horrible headache. Nothing came to mind - and she was thankful it didn't. Even thinking seemed to be extremely painful.
Why?
She almost had to wonder. What had happened to her, that had left her so... tired, and blank. Slowly, bits and pieces of images struggled to break free in her mind, but she blocked them away. As much as she needed to know, she'd much rather not figure out. Not now. Whatever it was, it could wait, at least until she felt a little better.
"I don't,"she answered quietly, as she watched him sit - or more like, fall flat - on the floor. Her brow furrowed lightly, as if in thought. "Or maybe I do. I don't know..." she added, allowing herself to kneel down, albeit a little bit clumsily. A little sigh escaped her lips, and her gaze focused on the tiled floor. "... I don't really remember..." she admitted, and then sank into a long, thoughtful silence, as she allowed her mind to wander a little bit.
It was almost sad. Not knowing where she was supposed to be...
"... Who are you, by the way?"Xion asked, suddenly.

The silence was unnerving, but then again, that made it all the more difficult for someone or something to sneak up on them. Not that there was anybody else in this forsaken castle; the place was as deserted as a, a... He gave a half-hearted shrug, and sighed heavily. Why would it matter what this place was like?
He was here, albeit not complete (as was always the case, unfortunately). It was built like a labyrinth, and even with this stranger for company, he was no better off than when he had first woken up here. There was a nagging feeling in the back of his mind, now, that urged him to do something, to get off his rear and make the best of his situation.
One thing was for certain. He wouldn't be alone
With his gaze fixed on the stranger's placid face, Demyx let his hands fall into his lap, and he began to fidget with the cuffs of his gloves. At that moment, he became aware of something important. Considering his circumstances, it wasn't something he should have dwelled on, but the more he tried to push the feeling out of his mind, the stronger it became. He was hungry.
What the Nocturne wouldn't do for a snack, a mere morsel... It was strange, this feeling. Here he was, in a massive castle, trapped within the many halls with only a puzzled girl as a companion, and he was already beginning to worry about food. Truth be told, he always held snacks in high regard, and the more he became nervous, the worse his cravings got.
However, he'd have to wait for a scavenger hunt. The stranger before him had begun to speak again, and Demyx perked up, his face brightening. His smile faded as the girl's confusion mixed with his own increasingly-bewildered state. She wasn't as helpful as he'd secretly hoped, but as long as she didn't push him away, all was good. "My guess is as good as yours, I... guess."
Turning his gaze downwards, he contemplated for a minute or so, before he faced the stranger again. Who are you? The question did not sound as idiotic as his own, but he didn't answer her straight away.
There was anything he could've responded with, but what was the definite truth? He cast his gaze down again, and some of his fringe swept into his eyes; he brushed it back, annoyed. Finally, after a long silence, he raised his voice and answered her question; at first he found it difficult to pronounce his own name- or what honestly felt like his name. He could be wrong. He didn't sound too sure of himself, but the neither did the girl.
"...Demyx. My name is... Demyx. What's yours?"

Silence. Quietness... Emptiness.
It was almost eerie, to hear nothing but silence. It was a reminder of how devoid of life the place seemed. Were they really the only two people there? It couldn't be. Well, it had to be a huge place... right? It couldn't be completely deserted. Right? There should be at least someone there... besides the two of them.
... Right?
Standing around wasn't helping, so... she figured they should at least go look for a person, a reference, a clue as to where they were... anything, really. Anything would be perfect. All she wanted to know was how to get out of that place. It was terrifying. The white, the silence, the lingering feeling that the whole place might as well be a chunk of her imagination...
Blue eyes closed tightly, and she let out a sigh. This was... so... weird... and so utterly familiar... She was almost certain that the hazy feeling of numbness she had right now wasn't a new thing. No, she'd felt it before. But, those memories were currently a blur, like everything else in her mind.
She looked down at her feet when he - Demyx, asked her name. It was almost stupid, but she had trouble recalling it. Sort of. She knew it, and it was in the back of her head, being spoken over and over by different people...
"...It's Xion."she finally mumbled, sighing, as though simply speaking made her breathless. It did... a little. She was really exhausted. That didn't matter, though. All she had in mind right now, was that she wanted to leave the place. She looked around.
"This place... is scary..."
